Ellen Giggenbach
Originally from Bavaria in Germany, Ellen Giggenbach now considers herself a Kiwi. She works from her home studio in Eastbourne, Wellington.
She is happily married with two young sons. She has studied graphic art in Vienna in Austria and has been awarded a New Zealand Diploma with Distinction in Design.
As an internationally recognized artist and designer, her art works are made by lovingly cutting and assembling graphic shapes from art papers, painted in an extensive variety of colors using artist’s acrylics.
Ellen’s German heritage adds an element of folk to her designs and a passion for the 1950’s and 60’s inspire her bold graphic shapes, joyful images and kaleidoscopic color combinations! Her designs have been featured internationally on stationery items, books, textiles, gift and home ware products.
